Lessons I have learnt about English Plants

Tomatos require green houses.

Trying to make a decision about what new plants to buy for a dark room....

One rule of thumb is that most vine plants, like pothos or philodendron, grow well with little light. These plants are solid green and may have streaks of white or yellow. Other vine plants include Cissus Antarctica (kangaroo plant), monstera and dozens of types of ivy. Vine plants require little water and little sun but look beautiful all the same.

For something simple and low-maintenance, try English Ivy (Hedera helix). This is a hardy plant with dark green, glossy leaves. It can climb to 9' when used as a vine, and you can also use it as groundcover, creating a carpet effect in areas where grass has difficulty growing.
