Metaverse

In Science Fiction, the metaverse refers to the hypothetical idea of a single universal immersive virtual world accessible through virtual reality headsets. In practice, the metaverse has come to refer to a network of social virtual worlds. I would argue that Second Life and VRChat are the preeminent examples of metaverses with significant user bases.
